The College of Cultural and Community Studies (CCS) opened at 2303 Sheridan Road in the fall of 1972. CCS was one of the first five thematic residential colleges at Northwestern. GREEN House is for students interested in living sustainably. 2303 Sheridan was constructed as part of the original $500,000 Fraternity/Men's Dormitory plan just before World War I. The buildings, planned in quadrangles, were designed by Palmer, Hornbostel, and Jones.
