Opened in the fall of 1999, the 58,000-square-foot James S. Kemper Hall was built at a cost of $10.5 million. The 184-unit structure houses 165 residents and was designed by Solomon, Cardwell, Buenz & Associates. The coeducational living arrangements include six- and eight-person suites, both with living rooms and bathrooms. Six-person suites have single rooms and complete kitchens; eight-person suites have double rooms. Kemper Hall is named in honor of James S. Kemper, the founder of the Kemper Group of insurance and financial services companies.
