History
Designed by James Gamble Rogers, Lutkin Memorial Hall (1941) is named in honor of Peter Christian Lutkin, dean of the School of Music from 1883 to 1931. (A portrait of Lutkin hangs outside the auditorium.) The simplified Gothic structure was made possible by thousands of small gifts that accumulated over a period of 30 years. The auditorium seats 286 and features a stage paneled in carved oak.
